Health Benefits of Cocoa Consumption For Cholesterol And Diabetes

Chocolate loved by children and adults, and the health benefits of cocoa or chocolate products are also very good for your organs. In a study with different methods have been suggest that compounds in cocoa called flavanols very beneficial for cardiovascular health. This study uses a systematic and meta-analysis of 19 randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

A meta-analysis of the health benefits of cocoa consumption published in the Journal of Nutrition, scientists proved the analysis of all 19 RCTs. Scientists focus on the consumption of flavanol-rich in cocoa products were associate with improvements in health biomarkers involving 1139 volunteers.

Health Benefits of Cocoa Consumption

According to Dr. Simin Liu, a meta-analysis of RCT explain how the flavanols in cocoa beans affecting cardiometabolic biomarkers. These results will be test for definitive prevention against diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the future. Flavanol intake may reduce dyslipidemia or triglycerides, insulin resistance and systemic inflammation. All of these are risk factors for subclinical primary on cardiometabolic disease.

All studies were done of short duration, not all biomarkers tracked and changed for the better than before. No studies designed to test directly whether the consumption of flavanol cocoa pods could reduce heart attacks or type 2 diabetes, but scientists consider some of these heterogeneities, meta-analysis summarizing the 19 experiments to find a beneficial effect on the flavanol-rich of cocoa to health cardiometabolic. Eating cocoa beans lead to minor improvements, but the health benefits of cocoa consumption very significant compared with those who did not.

The greatest effect was seen among the volunteers who ate between 200 and 600 milligrams of flavanols daily. A significant decrease in blood glucose and insulin, as well as other indicators of insulin resistance, called HOMA-IR. Cocoa also led to an increase in good HDL, cholesterol reduction. Those who take high doses will gain some of the benefits of insulin resistance and decrease in triglycerides, but no significant increase in HDL. While they were eating in a lower dose of flavanols only benefit in HDL.

The health benefits of cocoa consumption is excellent for women and men and does not depend on the physical form of flavanol-rich of cocoa products such as chocolate bars or liquid. This study can not be generalize to different types of chocolate or white chocolate candy, where there is a sugar that is much higher than the dark chocolate or bars.
